Stallion Singers Wow Crowd at Crown Center

April 25, 2012 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Today at 10:00 AM, the Stallion Singers sang at the food court in Crown Center in downtown Kansas City.  With 110 singers in the choir, together they sang “Yonder Come Day” which is a three part spiritual song.  They also sang, “Do Unto Others”. Mrs. Roark said she chose those songs, because she thought they would entertain the crowd.  Boy, was she right!  The welcoming crowd loved it!  When the Stallion Singers were finished, over 100 pairs of hands applauded for them.  After their performance, they had lunch in the food court which was a nice treat.  Way to go Stallion Singers!

For the past 3 years at Longview, Mr.Lanier has organized an Archery Club. This year, three teams entered into the State Tournament in Warrensburg on March 24th. Team 1 qualified to shoot at the National Archery tournament in Louisville, Kentucky on May 11th.  We are very excited and so is Mr.Lanier. Mr. Lanier pushes us to be the best we can be. He has kept 5 dollars in his toolbox for a lucky person who shoots a 50 ( a perfect score). This year, someone earned the $5  prize . This person was Isabelle!!! Congrats to her!! Thanks to Mr.Lanier and all the shooters who are participating!! Good Luck to them while they practice 3 times a week!

The 5th graders went to BSSE

April 18, 2012 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Today, the 5th graders just went on a field trip to the Blue Springs School of Economics (BSSE). While they were there, the 5th graders applied what they had learned about economics, which they have been studying for quite some time.  They also pretended to be immigrants coming from different countries to the USA. Some parts of the world were Pacific Islands, Orient, and many more. The 5th graders enjoyed their time there.

Recyling Efforts by LFE Stallion Ambassadors

April 4, 2012 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

In late March, the Stallion Ambassadors (student council) walked around the perimeter of Longview Farm Elementary picking up trash. Despite the chilly weather, the student council members put their best environmental feet forward. The Stallion Ambassadors found a variety of objects, including a piece of a baseball base and some coupons. The main goal was to encourage kids to recycle on their own time by setting an example. Earth Day is Sunday, April 22nd. Do anything you can to help the environment!
